It’s fair to say that the demons have been banished from Liverpool’s infamous Steven Gerrard slip five years ago after yesterday. Back in the 2013/14 season, Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield to pretty much kill the Reds title charge, but Mo Salah and co weren’t going to allow that yesterday, as the Egyptian scored a corker in a 2-0 win.
53 – WHAT A GOAL, MO! Salah cuts inside and unleashes an UNBELIEVABLE strike from distance, which finds the top corner. WOW!

Mo Salah has scored some fantastic goals in his time at Anfield, yet this strike was the first of it’s kind that we’ve seen come from Salah’s boots. Usually the Egyptian forward is seen scoring goals with plenty of finesse, chipping goalkeepers and curling 20-yarders into the top corner, but this was different. After weeks of frustration in front of goal, he scored against Southampton and then yesterday’s strike was sublime.
It was almost as if the Egyptian’s frustration and anger having failed to find the net for so long all came out when he lashed the ball past Kepa Arizzabalaga yesterday and given how quickly he found the net after Sadio Mane’s opener it near enough sealed the win. That goal was Salah’s 19th in the top flight this season, and that puts him level with Sergio Aguero at the top in the race for the Golden Boot as he aims for both Premier League and Golden Boot glory.

The Kopites absolutely loved seeing Salah rip the net off against Chelsea and will hope he has a few more of those in his locker as they approach the final run in.
