Liverpool fans on Twitter slam Spurs for Man City loss

Tottenham vs Manchester City has been a trilogy that Liverpool fans have been following intently over the last eleven days, and yesterday’s clash between the two in the Premier League was huge. The Reds were hoping Spurs could do them a favour, but they fell to a 1-0 defeat, meaning City still have the initiative in the title race.

In truth, if Liverpool fail to win the Premier League then they will only have themselves to blame. At Christmas, the Reds were four points clear of Manchester City, and if they fail to win the league then it will be just the third time in the last ten years that the team top at Christmas fails to win the Premier League. The last two teams to manage the feat was Liverpool in 2007/08 and Liverpool in 2013/14.

That sums it all up and whilst they can try and blame Tottenham or whoever else play Man City and fail to beat them, they can only look in the mirror for their impending title loss. Should they win it, it will equally be down to the quality of Jurgen Klopp’s side and neither this Liverpool side or Man City should be looked at as failures regardless of how the run-in goes.
