Whenever it comes to Liverpool fans, they always seem to believe that fans and pundits have it out for them. However, in this case, it is had to argue as ex-Manchester City and Everton defender Joleon Lescott has claimed that Virgil van Dijk wouldn’t get into Manchester City’s current side.
VVD doesn’t get in City’s team? Get in the sea, mate https://t.co/MbivBNzUGr

The 36-year-old defender is now retired and will look back on a successful career in which he two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and a League Cup as well as winning 26 international caps for England. However, it seems his time off the football pitch has seen Lescott develop some pretty strange views, and it must be his anti-Liverpool bias talking when he’s made these comments about Van Dijk.
The comments from Lescott have come during an exclusive interview with Sporting Bet and whilst a lot of Liverpool fans may not have come across the comments if it wasn’t for Empire of the Kip sharing them on Twitter, they have all been equally outraged by the incredible hot take from the ex-England international. Virgil van Dijk would get into any side on this planet right now, and should Liverpool win the Premier League he could be awarded the player of the season award.

The fact that someone even asked for his opinion is ridiculous.

Jealous because even prime Lescott isn’t fit to lace VVD’s boots. He wasn’t even better than Lovren

The Reds love Van Dijk and whilst they all know that he’s best there is in terms of centre-backs, they’ve all still bitten at Lescott’s outrageous claims.
