Liverpool take to the pitch again tonight and have the opportunity to make it eight wins from eight games against Chelsea at Anfield. However, this game doesn’t have as much significance as the one on Saturday at Stamford Bridge. Because of that, the Reds want to see James Milner rested tonight against Chelsea to be ready for The Blues on the weekend.

Liverpool fan account Empire of the Kop took to Twitter to put out what they thought would be the Liverpool starting eleven tonight. They included a number of changes with the likes of Clyne, Moreno and Solanke included. However, the one change that a lot of fans want to make is Milner coming out for the likes of Jordan Henderson or another midfielder as the 32-year-old Milner could do with a rest.
Milner has become an increasingly pivotal player for The Reds and Jurgen Klopp will be pleasantly surprised by how well he’s managed to play in the club’s midfield. So far he’s been preferred over club captain Henderson and Fabinho, with Naby Keita also missing out on the odd occasion to accommodate Milner. In the long run, Milner isn’t the option, but at the moment with him playing the sublime football he is, Klopp will need to save him for the big games and Saturday’s Stamford Bridge visit is certainly one of those.
