Liverpool fans on Twitter welcome news of potential Lallana exit

Adam Lallana has been a loyal servant at Anfield since he joined Anfield back in summer 2014, but now it looks like his time on Merseyside is up. The attacking midfielder has really struggled with injuries as a Red in the last few years and according to The Daily Mirror, he could be set to return to Southampton for first-team football.

Lallana was a nailed on England starter for a few years when he was in his prime at Liverpool and he was the scorer of the only goal that the Three Lions netted with Sam Allardyce in charge. However, since then he’s fallen a long way downhill. Injuries have massively hurt the midfielder and with Jurgen Klopp making improvements all over the park, the ex-St Mary’s man was never going to last long.

It now looks like his exit is inevitable this summer, and he’ll be looking to appeal to those who once sung his name every week on the Southcoast. Whether or not Ralph Hasenhuttl will be willing to sign the injury-prone midfielder as Lallana recently turned 31-years-old is yet to be seen, but the fact that the Reds are so keen to let the midfielder go speaks volumes, especially seeing as they parted with £27.9 million for him just five years ago.

The Reds seem to have no issues with losing Lallana and will just be happy to get him off the wage bill sooner or later.
