Liverpool fans on Twitter wish they hadn’t loaned Nathaniel Clyne

Jamie Carragher is one of the pundits who you can rely on to talk sense, and Liverpool fans have all found themselves nodding in agreement over their ex-players latest verdict on the club. The Sky Sports pundit and commentator claimed that he believes Jurgen Klopp made a mistake in loaning Nathaniel Clyne to Bournemouth – and the fans agree.

You can read Jamie Carragher’s comments on Anfield HQ and it’s hard not to agree with him. Klopp admitted after his side overcame Brighton on Saturday that Trent Alexander-Arnold had to play through the pain barrier to compete at The Amex Stadium, and if he had a suitable right-back who could fill in for the youngster then it would keep the teenager fresh and match fit, but that isn’t the case.

Clyne would have been perfect for the Reds’ trip to Brighton, and that’s what makes his loan move seem even stranger. Granted, the ex-Southampton man wouldn’t have featured so prominently at Anfield, but the games would have come. Now, the Kopites will have to make do with just Alexander-Arnold as their only recognised right-back, although the likes of James Milner and Fabinho are able to cover their.

I personally would have kept him as cover for Trent but I trust klopp 100 % so if he wanted to let him leave, that's fine

The Reds would have loved to have kept Clyne at Anfield but now he’s gone they’ll have to get by until the end of the season when they can get some new cover in for Alexander-Arnold.
