Liverpool fans have praised former forward Luis Suarez and hit at captain Jordan Henderson after comments that the midfielder made on a podcast on Thursday.
The influential figure moved to Anfield in 2011 after his £20m switch from Sunderland, six months after the Uruguay international arrived on Merseyside.
However, the Sunderland-born middle man admitted that he had a lot of confidence knocked out of him during his first training sessions by Suarez, despite a string of eye-catching performances for the Black Cats.
He revealed that he was made to feel inferior to the Barcelona striker and was ready to “kill him” before they drew a line under their issues at Melwood.
He told Jamie Carragher on his podcast, The Greatest Game, that he degraded him on multiple occasions and said that it “hurt him”.
Despite Henderson’s comments, supporters sided with the Reds’ former No. 7 and made their feelings clear on social media.
