Liverpool fans have praised Sadio Mane after “diving” to score against Manchester City during his side’s 3-1 victory at Anfield on Sunday.
The Senegal international scored a diving header in the second half to score the Reds’ third goal of the afternoon as the Reds went eight points clear at the summit of the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side head into the international break nine points clear of the Citizens.
City manager Pep Guardiola had previously accused Mane of diving after his side’s win over Southampton earlier in November, and the 26-year-old responded in the best way that he could by scoring a goal against his team that proved to be decisive.
Supporters were delighted with Mane’s contributions during the crunch clash and made their feelings clear on social media.
One fan described him as a “wicked diver” as he took aim at the Manchester City boss, while another said that he “dived into the hearts” of Liverpool fans around the world with his goal.
