Liverpool: Fans rave about Alisson after narrow win at Tottenham

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson came in for glowing reviews from a number of the club’s fans on Twitter after his performance this evening.

The Brazilian kept Tottenham at bay to record his sixth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, with only one goal conceded in his last nine appearances for the Reds. The 27-year-old made four saves in total from Spurs and his distribution was frequently on point, with a 74.1% passing success rate and four accurate long passes (as per SofaScore).

Alisson’s performance was commended by some reporters after the game. Henry Jackson of This Is Anfield wrote: “He was called into action numerous times after the break, but dealt with the danger impressively, showing world-class handling.” In the Liverpool Echo, Ian Doyle said that the Reds ‘keeper showed “safe hands after the break”.

Alisson’s record in the Premier League this season now stands at just five goals conceded from 13 appearances, with tonight being his sixth clean sheet in the division so far in 2019/20. The last player to score a league goal against him was Wilfried Zaha for Crystal Palace seven weeks ago.

Following his latest assured display, these Liverpool fans on Twitter were raving about their goalkeeper, with one supporter believing that he is even more important to the Reds’ cause than reigning PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk:
