Yesterday, it was announced. The news every Liverpool fan has been eagerly awaiting for months. Sadio Mane has committed himself to a new long-term contract with the Reds.
The 26-year-old’s new deal means he will be contracted at Anfield until the summer of 2023, like the forwards he has struck up a deadly partnership with, that being Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino – the trio scored a staggering 91 goals between them in all competitions last season, and already have 19 as a front line this time round as well.
And Senegal international Mane has contributed to eight of them – seven scored and one assisted – in just 16 appearances this season in all competitions, and that is good going considering the fact he has not been at his best throughout the campaign so far.
