Liverpool: Fans react to Martin Tyler’s commentary for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s opener against Chelsea

Liverpool extended their winning run to six games on Sunday, beating Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds’ second was scored by striker Roberto Firmino, with the Brazilian heading home Andy Robertson’s perfectly-whipped cross on the half-hour mark.

Firmino’s goal came just 16 minutes after Liverpool had opened the scoring, however. Trent Alexander-Arnold rifled a beautiful free-kick into the top-corner, past the helpless Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Blues’ goal to put his side a goal to the good in west London.

The 20-year-old’s strike looked as though it came straight out of a handbook on “How to score the perfect free-kick”, with it demonstrating the correct amount of power and placement. It was – by all accounts – a stunning finish.

As expected, it whipped Liverpool fans into a frenzy. It did not do such a thing to Sky Sports’ legendary commentator Martin Tyler, though. The 74-year-old remained barely unmoved throughout the whole situation, as you can tell by the tone in his voice in the clip shown below.

Here’s how some Reds fans reacted to it on Twitter:
