Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named Standard Chartered’s Player of the Month for October.
The Egyptian ace has actually started the season relatively slowly in comparison to last season, having netted three goals and laid on two assists in his first 11 games in all competitions. The tally is not even that poor – it is just that last season’s form that was always going to be virtually impossible to match.
Salah played five times for Liverpool in October across the Premier League and Champions League, scoring four times and assisting twice to help Jurgen Klopp’s men preserve their unbeaten start to the new league season.
His form has improved just at the right time, with a flurry of fixtures coming up around Christmas time and into the New Year, so performances to the best of his ability will be needed to continue to feel the love from Liverpool fans.

Unsurprisingly, news of Salah’s award victory has stimulated quite a response from many Liverpudlians on Twitter, with several in full agreement at the decision, and thus full of praise for Salah for his excellent form last month…
