Thiago Alcantara is no closer to joining heavily-linked Premier League side Liverpool but will definitely leave Bayern Munich this summer.
According to Kevin Palmer, Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that the midfield star will depart the Bundesliga club (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom).

Thiago helped his team to lift their sixth Champions League trophy at the weekend after they defeated Paris Saint-Germain with a tense 1-0 victory in the final in Lisbon.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield for several weeks and will reportedly command a fee of £23m (via Daily Mail). However, no advances have been made in terms of agreeing an amount to bring Thiago to Merseyside. Because of this, some Reds fans are getting frustrated and are urging Fenway Sports Group to make the move happen.
One supporter has replied to the news saying it would be ‘an absolute waste’ to let talks shut down after such prolonged interest. Another has echoed this sentiment, describing the idea of letting the move slip as ‘absolute madness’.
