Thiago Alcantara’s price tag has reportedly soured Liverpool’s view on a move for him this summer.
The midfielder has been valued at €30m (£26.9m), which despite being a relatively low a mount, has made Liverpool and Fenway Sports Group ‘flinch’, according to Abendzeitung Munchen (relayed via @AnfieldEdition).

This update comes as yet another twist in the saga of Thiago’s potential move to Anfield. The Reds have been linked with the playmaker for a number of weeks now, with no sign of the transfer being any closer to completion.
Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in the 29-year-old’s services and have no issue with paying Bayern Munich’s asking price. The report from Abendzeitung Munchen claimed that Thiago is holding out for a Liverpool move but wouldn’t turn his nose up at the chance to play with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
Some Reds fans are now at boiling point with this ongoing charade, after already hitting out at FSG for their lack of action in the transfer window. A number of Liverpool supporters have slammed their owners yet again, claiming they are ’embarrassing us’ and that the situation is ‘pathetic’.

Imagine “flinching” at paying around £27 million for a world class player when they wanted £30 million for Harry Wilson, the owners are cheapskates

If they are flinching about £30million for a world class proven winner then we are gonna be bargain basket shopping for the foreseeable future

Tightest owners ever. When all other big clubs spend we barely spend 8 million in 2 years. And we are world champions. Such a joke

It’s pathetic
