Liverpool: Fans slam Rio Ferdinand’s ‘ludicrous’ comments

Despite the Premier League season set to be completed when it is safe to do so, many pundits are having their say and Rio Ferdinand believes the campaign should be voided.

Due to the severity of recent events, the 2019/20 season has been halted until June 1, when the remaining fixtures will look to be carried out in order to complete the term (via Daily Mail).

Liverpool fans are naturally elated with the news, meaning they will still see Jordan Henderson lift the Premier League trophy. Even bitter rival Wayne Rooney has spoken out about how it is the right thing to do to see out the season so the Reds can claim their first ever Premier League title in the Sunday Times (via Liverpool Echo).

However, one pundit isn’t sold on the idea of the show going on – Ferdinand has said: “I just think the Premier League should be void,” and has put his reasoning down to the mass crowds who will be celebrating the win despite the prime minister’s recent instructions (via The Guardian).

Liverpool fans aren’t having any of the former Man United man’s comments, with one supporter branding them ‘ludicrous’.

That is a ludicrous argument for canceling the season. I don’t think he’s saying it out of any hatred for Liverpool either I just think he’s that dim and I’m not saying that to just be insulting either, I think he genuinely is. Obviously not a deep thinker that guy.
