Liverpool: Fans swoon over Jordan Henderson after Leicester City display

Many Liverpool fans were delighted with the performance of captain Jordan Henderson despite his side’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.

The 30-year-old was converted into a makeshift centre-back once more to nurse the injury crisis in the defensive department, with Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez all out of action.

Henderson, who earns £140k-per-week at Anfield, found himself all over the pitch in order to turn the screw in the tie – striding into the midfield and getting crosses in from the right-hand side.

The England international started at the heart of the defence for the seventh-game running and had scored once and provided one assist from 18 starts before the game (WhoScored).

With this in mind, supporters applauded the work that Henderson has done in recent weeks, despite the Reds continuing to slump in all competitions with a series of poor results.
