Given the fact that Sadio Mane was an absolute machine in March and bagged himself three goals and an assist in four Premier League games, it’s hardly a shock to see that he’s been awarded the PFA Fans Player of the Month for March. It’ll come as no shock to the fans, though, who all had an idea that he’d win an award or two for his recent form.

Mane has been the one on fire as of late. Over the course of last season and for a lot of this campaign it’s been Mo Salah scoring goals and winning praise, yet this time around it’s been the magnificent Mane, who’s been basking in goals and assists whilst Salah’s been struggling. Mane won’t mind, though, as long as the Reds are winning, he’ll be delighted to be getting on the scoresheet as he’s dragged himself into the race for the Premier League golden boot.
In the current campaign, Mane has 17 goals to his name and is only one behind teammate Salah and two behind top goalscorer Sergio Aguero. The race is still on, though, and with Salah, Mane, Aguero, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the mix, anyone can still win it. Mane’s recent form has to make him one of the favourites, though, and if he keeps scoring the way he did in March then there’s no reason why he can’t add the Golden Boot to his trophy cabinet.
