It’s not very often that a player snubs the chance to sign for a club like Liverpool. Anfield is one of the prime footballing destinations in Europe, and with back-to-back Champions League finals, the Reds are on the up. However, Suddeutsche Zeitung are claiming, via Tribuna, that Timo Werner is set to snub Liverpool in favour of Bayern Munich.

The Reds, as you can imagine, have not taken kindly to this news. The German striker is one who they’ve wanted for a while and have always been open to signing due to the German link between himself and their manager Jurgen Klopp. It has just never come to fruition, though, and now the Bundesliga man with 30 combined goals and assists is set to make the move to Bayern Munich.
It would have taken a substantial amount to prise Werner from RB Leipzig so the Reds can take positives from the fact that they won’t be risking big money on the £58.5 million-rated man, as valued by Transfermarkt. Some of Europe’s best have flopped upon their arrival in the Premier League, so his snubbing of the Merseysiders isn’t all bad, even if the Reds haven’t taken it well and have been slamming the 23-year-old hitman,

No ambition. Let him stay and rot there.

Not surprised and not bothered either…he's never regularly produced for me to merit the hype

The Kopites seem to be delighted that Werner isn’t interested in an Anfield move, and won’t lose sleep over losing out on the German.
