Liverpool fans continue to have curveballs thrown at them when it comes to the transfer links between the Reds and Philippe Coutinho.
Anfield icon Steve Nicol has given his take on these reported links, and believes his former side should jump at the chance to re-sign the Brazilian.
Speaking to ESPN (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), the Scot said: “Why wouldn’t you? [Sign Coutinho]. I can’t think of one reason why you wouldn’t.

“The only place he’s excelled at is Liverpool. The place loves him, he loves the place. Can you imagine adding Coutinho to a squad that, right now are still champions of Europe and are going to win the Premier League?”
Liverpool are on course to lift their first top flight trophy in 30 years, whilst the midfielder is struggling to find a permanent club to call home. However, the team could benefit from the 54 goals and 45 assists he racked up during his time on Merseyside (via Transfermarkt). Indeed, their regular midfield three this season – Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum – have netted just nine goals between them in all competitions.

Liverpool should get him if the price is anywhere within 35 million. We would get 2 good years and can perhaps sell him for the same amount if not more 2 years later.
