Liverpool managed to restore their winning form after a slight 2-1 victory over Bournemouth over the weekend. Now all focus turns to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday… but not every fan is convinced the Reds can overthrow the Spaniards.
The reverse Champions League fixture saw Jurgen Klopp’s side concede after just four minutes into the game. Liverpool couldn’t make an impact in the remaining 86 minutes and now face a huge task at Anfield this week. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both got on the scoresheet against Bournemouth, potentially getting them in the mood to net a couple past Jan Oblak under the Anfield lights.
However, one player who fans aren’t sure on is second-string goalkeeper Adrian. The 33-year-old had a poor game against Chelsea in the FA Cup and would’ve cost Liverpool’s lead against the Cherries if it wasn’t for James Milner’s heroics. Alisson’s latest injury means he will not be fit for the European clash (via BBC Sport).

Many supporters are predicting another nervy performance from Adrian in between the sticks, with one supporter labelling him an ‘accident waiting to happen’.
Another fan is worried Adrian will go ‘full Karius’ in goal and cost Liverpool a place in the next round.
Tbf, we need all the help we can get for that atletico game, already having nightmares about Adrian going full karius on us.

Can’t see us breaking down Atletico the way we playing atm plus Adrian has at least one mistake in him. Gonna be tough. Spurs not a chance.

I’m sure the plan is to just work Adrian and they are sure to score. He doesn’t keep clean sheets and is an accident waiting to happen most games, has a worldie save in him but that’s it. Going to need to score 3 maybe 4 to get through so lets hope our attack’s on it. 3-1 Pool 🤞

@AdriSanMiguel, just do the talking on the pitch.
Action speaks louder than words. Put in a good performance and make us proud.

Can we play Kelleher against Atletico? Adrian is all over the place, giving me fits here.

How do you feel ahead of Wednesday, Reds? Can Klopp’s men get it done?
