A number of Liverpool supporters have reacted angrily to Paul Joyce's confirmation that Thiago will miss the weekend's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

The Reds face one of their biggest games of the season on Sunday as they head to Stamford Bridge to take on Thomas Tuchel's Blues.

In truth, it could be that only a victory will do for Liverpool, with Manchester City potentially opening up a 12-point lead at the top of the table by the time kick-off arrives in west London, albeit having played two games more.

Unfortunately, Joyce has confirmed via Twitter that the Reds will have to make do without Thiago for the match, with the Spaniard missing the game due to a hip problem.

The midfielder also sat out Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Leicester City and he could again be a big miss on Sunday, having won all nine games he has started this season.
