James Pearce has reported that Liverpool are ‘very content’ with their back-up goalkeeper options.
According to The Athletic reporter, the Merseyside outfit are pleased with Adrian as their second-choice goalkeeper and Pearce doesn’t feel as though the club need to make any changes (via @AnfieldEdition).
Should Liverpool keep or sell Adrian?
Liverpool signed the 33-year-old in the summer of 2019 to serve as deputy to Alisson. He made a strong first impression by helping the Reds to their Super Cup victory over Chelsea but has fallen down in a lot of fans’ books after some nightmare performances between the sticks.
Adrian made costly errors in both the FA Cup and Champions League which ultimately led to Liverpool tumbling out of those competitions. Now, many supporters have responded to Pearce’s comments to voice their disagreement with the journalist.
One fan has tweeted that they would ‘sacrifice the PL’ in order to sell the Spaniard, whilst another has written ‘this ain’t the circus’. A large chunk of the fanbase are clearly eager to see Adrian replaced as soon as possible.

I would sacrifice the PL if it meant we sold this donkey to a 3rd division Czech republic club

He’s awful. Arrogant aswell.
Didn’t apologise for the howlers that led to being knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League.
Needs to go.

Yeah, he’s the best. Single-handedly cost us another 1/4 final in the CL, but otherwise he’s perfect. Pearce strikes again with his nonsense.

He may be the worst number 2 we have ever had. I would take brad jones and bogdan over him. I dont have a problem with kelleher being the number 2. He has been class in the cup games
