Liverpool: Fans react to Adrian post following Atletico defeat

Liverpool have seen their European run this season cut devastatingly short as an Adrian blunder in goal set Atletico Madrid up for a superb comeback. The Spaniard has taken to Twitter to express how he’s feeling and it’s got a lot of Reds talking.

It took two legs and 94 minutes but Liverpool finally took hold of their battle against Atletico Madrid with both hands. Reds fans celebrated in the first half of extra time on Wednesday after Liverpool not only looked to be going through, but Roberto Firmino ended his Anfield goal drought.

That is, until just three minutes later when Adrian mimicked Loris Karius’ blunder in Kiev. Indeed, the back-up goalkeeper gifted the ball straight to João Félix who capitalised on the error and set up Marco Llorente’s first goal of the night.

More heartbreak unfolded after Adrian’s howler set the tone for Atletico’s hunger to see the game through. Two more goals came and Liverpool were sent crashing out of the competition they are currently reigning champions of.
