According to freelance Liverpool correspondent David Lynch, via Watch LFC, Thiago Alcantara is facing a lengthy wait on the sidelines and will not be returning to Jurgen Klopp's starting line up until January - prompting many Reds to discuss the 'very sad' update.

Thiago, who was signed as a high-profile acquisition in the summer from Bayern Munich, has been on the treatment table after suffering a knee injury after a poor challenge from Richarlison in the Merseyside Derby - with Klopp recently stating that the impact sustained on his knee was not good.

Now, as relayed by Lynch, Thiago faces a recovery on the sidelines and won't be back until after the New Year - prompting many Reds to flock as their injury list was just starting to ease.

Indeed, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita are nearing a return, as confirmed by the Reds boss, but Thiago's reintroduction looks to be a while off yet.
