Liverpool correspondent James Pearce has been reacting to Thiago's injury during the final day win over Wolves.

The Lowdown: Liverpool's win in vain

The Reds were in with a chance of lifting the Premier League title on the final day and eventually did their job by collecting three points against Wolves.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson earned Jurgen Klopp's side a 3-1 victory after falling a goal behind. However, Manchester City came from two goals down against Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa to win 3-2 and duly claim the title, and there was seemingly more bad news from Anfield regarding star midfielder Thiago.

The Latest: Thiago injured, Pearce reacts

Towards the end of the first half, Thiago - who began the match in a three-man midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita - suffered an injury and duly went straight down the tunnel.

Pearce relayed the news on Twitter, describing it as 'not good' for the Reds, with the Spaniard making way for James Milner at the interval.

The Verdict: Fingers crossed

The Reds will now turn their attention to next weekend's Champions League final against Real Madrid, and Thiago going off injured is obviously a scare ahead of that match in six days' time.

Jurgen Klopp already has worries over Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho, so losing Thiago in Paris would be a blow. He has featured in all but three games during Liverpool's run to the final, missing just 11 minutes across the two legs of the semi-final, so hopefully it isn't anything too serious.
