Liverpool: Trent Alexander-Arnold responds to Jose Mourinho on Instagram
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has hit back at Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho after his side’s 2-1 victory at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold fires back
The 22-year-old featured for the Reds in the defensive line as Jurgen Klopp’s side got the better of the North London outfit, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and a last-gasp winner from Roberto Firmino.
Despite being statistically the superior side during the game, Mourinho did not agree during his post-match interview, insisting that the “best team lost” (cited by Sky Sports).
Retaliating on Instagram without much subtlety, Alexander-Arnold disagreed and made his feelings clear with a simple three-word message: “Best team won.”

Transfer Tavern Verdict
It’s the perfect response from a Liverpool point of view, and it’s difficult to understand what Mourinho is referring to.
Granted, his side did have the best opportunities in the second half, but they created 10 chances less than the Merseysiders and played just under 600 passes fewer (Fotmob).
Liverpool were the deserved winners on the night and looked very impressive considering the injuries they currently have on the books.
