Liverpool: Fans are furious as reported Gini Wijnaldum transfer fee emerges

Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has reportedly agreed terms with Barcelona amid a transfer to the La Liga outfit.

The Merseysiders may have their hands tied over this potential move as they continue to monitor major target Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. James Pearce recently admitted that the Reds are likely to be forced into selling existing players before being able to pursue a move for the Spain midfielder.

According to FootballJOE, Wijnaldum and Barcelona have agreed personal terms and he could be on his way to Spain for a fee of £15m.

With the 29-year-old having a Transfermarkt value of £36m, many Liverpool fans are furious that such a low sum is being offered for the Dutchman’s services. One supporter has replied to the tweet with the sarcastic question ‘is Messi coming the other way?’ as they feel that Wijnaldum is worth a lot more than his reported price tag, while the Argentina striker has been strongly linked with an exit from Camp Nou.

Another fan thinks the transfer update is a ‘joke’, especially after the playmaker helped the Reds win their sixth Champions League trophy last year after his brace against Barcelona in the semi-final at Anfield.
