The former Bournemouth winger, who made his move to La Liga over the summer transfer window, has since gone on to shine under Unai Emery at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

Bagging five goals and an assist in just nine Spanish top flight starts so far (WhoScored), Danjuma has also netted twice in the Champions League whilst earning his first call-up to the Netherlands national team since 2018.

Indeed, it has been quite the start to 2021/22 for Danjuma, and a claim has now emerged involving Liverpool. As per reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano, there has been an update on Fenway Sports Group's pursuit of the player.

According to his information, as he explained on the Here We Go Podcast, Liverpool are hunting for wide players and 'love' the 24-year-old in particular - but there is a problem in the shape of his current club.

"Liverpool are looking for wingers because in January they’ll be losing Salah and Mane, no panic buys, only if they have a good opportunity they’ll do it," Romano explained (via TEAMtalk).

"I am told Liverpool love Danjuma, but Villarreal have no intentions of opening talks in January."

Flocking to this claim, many Reds are excited by the prospect of the ex-Cherries ace as a target despite being unlikely to sign him mid-season.
