Just over a year in charge of the Reds, the German has turned the Merseyside titans into one of the most dynamic side in the Premier League and their upcoming EFL Cup tie with Spurs promises to be a cracker.
Still, the former Borussia Dortmund coach will be without captain Jordan Henderson for the game, who has been in wonderful form of late.
Picking up his fifth booking of the season against West Brom on the weekend, the 26-year-old is banned for tonight’s clash.
After initially struggling following his move from Sunderland in 2011, his all-action performances have served him well under Klopp’s stead and the England man has expressed his frustration at his absence.
Writing in his column for This is Anfield (with quotes sourced by Liverpool’s official site), Henderson stated: “Unfortunately I’ll be watching tonight and not contributing because of suspension.
I won’t dwell on the topic except to say I’m disappointed in myself that I’ve picked up five bookings so quickly in the season and it’ll be something I look to learn from and address.
”I know the strength of the squad is such that the team will be strong, whichever eleven the manager starts with, but I’m gutted I’m not in contention to play.”
