Liverpool fans in the Football transfer Tavern are getting frustrated with their boss after talkSPORT revealed that Brendan Rodgers is yet to contact Lille about the possibility of recalling Divock Origi.
The 19-year-old was very impressive at the World Cup which earned him a move to Anfield for £10 million but part of the deal meant he was immediately loaned back to Lille.
Many thought it was a win-win situation as it would allow the youngster to develop further whilst playing regular first team football in Ligue 1.
But now it appears that the Reds are need of his services ahead of schedule as the Reds’ current strikeforce have left a lot to be desired in Daniel Sturridge’s absence.
With their lack of success in front of goal, many speculated that they would look to cut Origi’s loan move short but to make it happen Liverpool will have to pay a further £3 million.
The Ligue 1 club’s president Michel Seydoux has said that there has been no approach from Liverpool regarding a move.
He said: “There is no official offer from Liverpool. For the moment [Divock] Origi is at Lille and we count on him.”
