Jurgen Klopp brought in a number of big names during the summer break that are sure to make an impact over the coming years. With so many good players, it’s clear that the Reds are going to be on course for a Premier League title challenge this season.
However, despite the millions being spent in the transfer market, it’s a player that Liverpool spent decidedly less on – absolutely nothing in fact – that is earning all the plaudits at present.
Young Ben Woodburn, who has been developed through the Liverpool academy, has been the name on everybody’s lips in recent days, with the Welshman turning in a couple of stunning performances for his country.
Scoring a last ditch goal to keep Wales’ World Cup hopes alive, he has already made a name for himself, and it appears as though Liverpool are ready to utilise him.
First things first, though, Liverpool need to ensure that his future remains at Anfield, and according to the Guardian, they are working to that end. Set to turn 18 next month, Woodburn looks likely to celebrate his birthday with a new contract in his hands – with a long-term deal reportedly in the offing.
It’s no less than the Welshman deserves after a scintillating start to the season.

Liverpool have shown an appreciation for young, homegrown players in recent years – and Woodburn looks likely to be the next player to be given a big chance.
He has made a Rashford level impact already, and the best is certainly yet to come.
Still, he’ll need to stay grounded – but a contract is the least that he deserves.
