Liverpool rule out departure of midfield man

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted with his improvement over the last year or so…

Whilst nobody in the Transfer Tavern ever expected Kevin Stewart to become a regular part of the Liverpool first team, the young midfielder has surprised everyone with his performances over the last year.

Plucked from the Tottenham academy, Stewart has seemingly gained the trust of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool – and whilst young players that are not regular starters by the time they are 23-years-old are often sold; it would appear as though that will not be the case with Kevin Stewart.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Stewart is not for sale – despite numerous attempts from both Premier League and Championship sides to prize him away from the Merseyside giants.

The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Klopp values Stewart’s versatility and role as a squad player highly – and so has ruled out any chance of a departure, despite the re-opening of the transfer window.

This has come as somewhat of a surprise to the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, as whilst they have been impressed with Stewart’s form this season – they think it is unlikely that he will ever become a regular under Klopp.

Our landlord, though, feels that squad players are often hugely undervalued – and if Stewart is happy to be a bit-part player at Anfield then Klopp would be wise to keep him.
