Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are slightly annoyed after hearing the news from Metro, that Serie A side Roma are also eyeing a move for Manchester City midfielder James Milner.
The Reds are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign the 29-year-old midfielder, however they now face a battle to sign him with Roma vying for his signature too.
Milner is out of contract at Manchester City in the summer, and looks likely to leave the Etihad Stadium to join another club.
The versatile player joined the club in 2010 from Aston Villa, and has gone on to accumulate 137 appearances for the Citizens.
Talks between Milner and Manchester City chiefs have reportedly stalled, thus putting a number of top clubs on red alert.
A pocket of Liverpool fans over by the bar in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited about the potential of signing Milner, with the majority of them seeing him as useful addition to the Reds squad, especially if signed on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, over by the dartboard in the Transfer Tavern, a few Manchester City fans are deliberating the deal, with most of them wanting to keep hold of Milner in the summer.
