Just yesterday in the Football Transfer Tavern it was reported that Juventus were ready to put in a massive bid to sign Luis Suarez and Liverpool supporters have once again been left looking glum-faced in the tavern with news reported by Mirror Football that Spanish side Atletico Madrid are now considering a move for the striker.
Backed by the oil-rich Azerbaijan government, Atletico are thought to be preparing a bid of around £40 million to take the star striker to Spain this summer and they could use the money made from selling Radamel Falcao to Chelsea as has been persistently rumoured this season.
It is understood that the Spanish club are willing to break their transfer record to sign the Uruguayan international striker who has netted 29 times for the Reds this term. The 26-year-old’s high wages could prove a stumbling block to any possible transfer but the Spanish outfit are looking for a sponsorship deal to provide the funds required.
Suarez will miss the first six games of next season after his high profile bite on Branislav Ivanovic and could see him tempted to leave England this summer.
Will he start next season at Anfield? And do the other side in Madrid really stand a chance? Rate this rumour below.
