Liverpool look to be going along pretty nicely this season, and with the inspirational form of Mo Salah guiding them, there’s every chance they can snatch a top four spot once again come the end of the season.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has always been a big fan of manager Jurgen Klopp, and this season is no different, with our gaffer impressed how the German has set his team up to attack and seemingly score at will.
The January transfer window is nearly upon us though now, and the Reds could do with strengthening in some areas, not least in midfield, where at times they have looked lightweight due to injuries and players simply not performing to the best of their ability.
One player they could look to sign which would no doubt cause a shock in the Premier League at least, is current Spurs and French midfield Moussa Sissoko, who despite getting his fair share of game time at Spurs, has never quite looked settled.
However, he is still a decent player, and proven in the Premier League previously, with his spell at Newcastle yielding his best form to date.
If Liverpool could convince Spurs to part ways with Sissoko and also get him back to the form he showed at St James’ Park, then the Reds would have a powerhouse of a midfielder on their hands for the forseeable future.
