Liverpool fans are rushing to hear what Metro has to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern and we cannot blame.
This is after it emerged that Raheem Sterling may just be that little bit closer to following Philippe Coutinho and penning a new deal with the Reds.
After being asked about the new deal, Brendan Rodgers spoke about the terms on the table for the now established star and admitted: “It’s an incredible deal for a young player. I’ve spoken to Raheem a number of times, he’s very, very happy.”
As one of our punters notes however, no matter how happy Sterling seems to be with the proposed deal, he is yet to put pen to paper and actually sign something meaning that the longer the talks go on, the more worried our regulars are becoming.
Should Liverpool fail to secure European football come next season, Sterling may well consider where his long-term future lies once again.
