Liverpool fans are starting to get even more nervous here in the Football Transfer Tavern, after hearing from Calcio Mercato that German outfit Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a move for Reds starlet Raheem Sterling.
The 20-year-old has been a revelation at Brendan Rodgers’ side over the past two seasons, and has transformed into a frequent starter and an England international.
Sterling’s form has not been as good as last year, but he’s still performing well in a season that has gone from bad to good for Liverpool.
Contract negotiations between Liverpool and Sterling have stalled, subsequently alerting interest from a number of top European clubs, with Borussia Dortmund the latest to show an interest in the young star.
Liverpool fans drinking here in the Football Transfer Tavern feel losing Sterling would be a monumental blow to the side, and most of them feel he is simply integral to any success at Anfield.
