Liverpool fans are set to be handed a boost ahead of their Europa League second leg as Daily Star claim that Raheem Sterling is set to sign a new deal with the club.
Talk over a new deal for Sterling has dominated pockets of the Tavern for some time now and after a deal was presented to the player that even manager Brendan Rodgers was impressed with, we were wondering what the hold up was – and now it seems that Sterling is ready to put pen to paper.
The winger himself claimed: ‘We’re working on it and hopefully it will be sorted soon.’
Now as our regulars note, we would love to see Sterling stay in the Premier League for the foreseeable future – and given the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo opted for life in Madrid over that of England it is nice to see our top talent pledging their future to the league we think is the best in the world.
