Dejan Lovren, it now seems, will not be leaving Liverpool this summer. The English window for signing players may have closed but the European window remains open, fortunately, though, it seems the Reds won’t be letting anyone go, including Lovren.
Liverpool end talks with AS Roma over the transfer of Dejan Lovren. Despite suggesting they would pay around £18 million, the Serie A club has failed to table an official proposal and instead used intermediaries to negotiate a small loan fee.

The Croatian defender is the club’s fourth-choice centre-back, and as Paul Joyce previously claimed that the defender was in talks with Roma over a £15m move, it has now come out via the same source, that the deal for Lovren is dead as the Reds have ended talks.
The 30-year-old defender may have fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, but with the risk of injuries having at least four central defenders is commonplace in football at the top level, and it could be crucial too, seeing as Joe Gomez missed 23 games with injury last season whilst Joel Matip missed seven.

Thank god for that. Keeps mo happy and we need all the depth we can get at the minute

How can we even consider it. Zero cover in at least 3 positions

Good, keeping an experienced CB is better than selling with 3 available.

No reason to let him go, our depth is bad enough as it is

The Liverpool fans seem delighted with the Lovren news from the tweets above, although it remains to be seen if the defender’s long-term future is at Anfield
