There are a large number of Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening after their Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Daily Star journalist David Woods took a few aside to inform them that a new transfer target has emerged on the Reds’ radar.
Woods claimed that Liverpool are preparing a £5 million bid for highly-rated United Arab Emirates international winger Omar Abdulrahman.
The 22-year-old, who currently plays for Al-Ain, has emerged as a major talent in the UAE and is regarded as one of the best players to grace the Asian game.
Arsenal had previously invited the youngster, often known as Amoory, for a trial in 2011, but he reject the chance as he wanted to focus on his career in UAE.
He then starred in the London 2012 Olympics for his country, which saw interest from Manchester City but a deal collapsed due to work permit issues.
It is understood that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is seeking a new wide addition after losing out on Mohamed Salah to Chelsea while overseeing the club failing to complete a deal for Ukrainian Yevhen Konoplyanka.
However Abdulrahman has now reportedly become a target with representatives from Anfield keeping close watch on his progress.
Do you think the Reds will now step up their interest for the winger? Let us know your thoughts below.
