Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are one of the most expectant bunch right now as they are hoping to see some serious deals done before the deadline later tonight.
With hours left in this summer’s transfer market, the Reds have certainly got plenty on their plate at the moment with fans expecting progress in deals with Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk.
Whilst we wait to see if the club manages to get those over the line, though, the club has apparently opened talks with Roma over a potential move for defender Emerson Palmeri – as per Gianluca di Marzio.
According to the report, the Reds want to get a deal sewn up for the Serie A based star but he would not actually leave the Italian capital until he has recovered from a knee injury.
For sure, then, he wouldn’t be an instant signing for the Reds but he’d certainly be a surprise one with this link seemingly going under the radar until now.
Let’s see, then, how it plays out over the course of the day.

The Reds are looking set to be one of the busiest sides in the transfer window today and it is going to be exciting to see how they manage to do in terms of spinning plates over the coming hours.
This deal would certainly be a surprise but we’ve seen it before with the club and so we wouldn’t rule out anything just now.
