Liverpool target summer move for Manchester City striker

Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are full of excitement after the Mirror revealed that they are targeting Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic after he has been shoved aside by the introduction of Wilfried Bony.

Jovetic, 25, has accepted that he is exiting the Etihad following the arrival of Bony after he was left out of Manuel Pellegrini’s Champions League squad.

Initial interest has mainly been from Italy, with Inter Milan and Juventus leading the chase, after Jovetic made a name for himself in Serie A with Fiorentina.

Although despite this form in Italy, he has struggled to get his career off the ground at City, and this potential has been restricted due to injuries after he moved in 2013 for £22m.

Punters believe that Jovetic is a competitor and will want to prove Pellegrini wrong and the best way to do that, would be moving to rival club, Liverpool.

Liverpool fans over by the dartboard in the Transfer Tavern believe that Jovetic would be a fantastic signing, and feel Brendan Rodgers should do all he can to snap him up.
