Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Mauricio Pochettino will show a few names the door this summer in order to move the team forward – with hopes of bettering their recent title challenges.

Mauricio Pochettino has masterminded a fantastic rise up the table for Spurs this year, after what was a rocky time in the opening half of the season. Spurs currently sit in the top-four in the league and well within the Champions League spots for next year, which is vital with the new stadium move edging ever closer.

The Spurs fans in the bar will hope to see the team continue their good form and with a top-four place all but locked up, they will hope that ‘home’ advantage works in their favour in the FA Cup.

While their young team continues to develop under the Argentine’s masterful watch, indeed, there are a few players that may not see the new stadium and it hasn’t been a particularly fruitful spell for these THREE players. With that being said, the 3 Tottenham players in question could do the Lillywhites a favour by moving on…

Moussa Sissoko

Used a fair amount this season, the French midfielder surely has no real future at Tottenham. Indeed, he’s been a total flop since his hugely expensive move from Newcastle United two years ago and looks so out of place when called upon by the Argentine. None of the Sissoko we saw excel for France at the European Championships two years ago has shown up for Spurs and the punters in our bar would love to see him leave.

If Tottenham can recoup even a figure of the fee they paid for him, it’d be a great bit of business.

Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela hasn’t shone as brightly as he has done in previous years after having a tough time with injuries so far. This year, he’s having to settle for a bit-part role within the first team, which must have frustrated him no end.

However, with his minutes on the pitch not being as much as they used to be and struggling to show the Argentine boss what he can still bring to this Spurs team. A move away seems the only plausible route the midfielder is going to go in the summer for a man who promised so much during his second season in Tottenham white.

Fernando Llorente

The former Swansea striker came to Spurs to play back-up to Harry Kane though, unfortunately for the Spaniard, he has simply not found his shooting boots when the opportunity has arisen – much to the frustration of our Spurs fans in the bar. What Pochettino needs is a striker that can play second fiddle to the English marksman but also run him close for the starting spot.

Llorente is in his 30’s and a move to a simpler team, much like his old club Swansea, would be better suited for him at this stage of his career.
