Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are absolutely delighted this afternoon after their side squeezed past West Brom at the Hawthorns to gain yet another massive three points in the Premier League.

The Reds needed to win to keep up the pressure on the likes of City and United, both of whom are playing catch-up in the pursuit of Champions League football.

But with our Reds-mad barman well impressed after the win against the Baggies, which is a very hard feat indeed with him being extremely critical indeed, it’s a result that gives Liverpool a bit of breathing space for now.

And despite the win not being the most convincing of all-time, it’s three points that counts and Klopp will be happy that has side came away from the Midlands with maximum points, especially after some impressive West Brom performances this season.

But what did we learn from the game? With some help from our Reds punters lining the bar, here’s 3 things we picked up on after the game…

Lovren isn’t good enough

Our barman has said it time and time again and finally supporters here in the pub are starting to agree- Dejan Lovren isn’t good enough for Liverpool to win titles and trophies.

Admittedly, the former Saints man is a decent defender but far too many times against the Baggies, he was caught out of position and given the runaround by Hal Robson-Kanu, who has struggled for game time at West Brom this season.

Can continues to impress

Emre Can isn’t the most well-liked player amongst our Liverpool fans here in the pub but after another strong display in the game against West Brom, opinion finally seems to be turning around.

The German has big shoes to fill with Jordan Henderson out injured but form is finally beginning to come his way and he’s controlling things in the middle-of-the-park, which is only a positive for the Reds,

Champions League qualification is up to Liverpool

Reds fans in the pub are desperate to secure Champions League qualification come the end of the campaign but it’s very much in their hands from here on in.

With games against Crystal Palace, Watford, Southampton, West Ham and Middlesbrough to come, their qualification prospects are very much in their hands.

Win all of their games and they’ll make the top-four.
