Man United fans should be very careful what they wish for. With non-stop transfer rumours flying, anything can happen, but as the fans have been rubbishing the idea of signing Andre Onana they need a reality check. According to Duncan Castles, the Ajax ‘keeper could be David De Gea’s replacement, and the fans aren’t happy.

We know what you’re thinking, and no there is no way that Onana is as good as De Gea. But stop and think for a minute. The Spanish Old Trafford man has been in abysmal form for a lot of the season and has hardly looked his usual confident one-man-army self at the back for United, meanwhile, Ajax’s young goalkeeper has been nothing short of fantastic this season.
At the age of just 23-years-old, Onana could easily go on to become one of the best goalkeepers in the game. He already has three seasons of experience as the #1 option between the sticks for Ajax, and should he be snapped by United for a the rumoured fee of £40 million then he’d make a suitable replacement for De Gea, and one that will only get better with age, despite what the Red Devils think.
