Paul Pogba wants to stay at Manchester United despite interest from Real Madrid.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, as per @utdreport, who revealed that Pogba is ready to sign a new deal with the Red Devils. The Italian transfer expert told The United Stand he understands that the 69-cap France international is happy to stay at Old Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that they can agree terms.
Pogba’s current contract will run out in 2021 but Man United have the option to extend the agreement by a further year. Real Madrid and Juventus have been monitoring the situation for some time, although it looks like they will come away disappointed.
Ed Woodward is set to hold talks with his representative Mino Raiola to reach a resolution. It’s no secret that the super-agent has a strained relationship with the club’s hierarchy, although any lingering issues seem to have subsided for the time being at least.

Pogba recovered from surgery in time for the Premier League restart, which has allowed him to form a formidable partnership with Bruno Fernandes in United’s midfield. It is worth pointing out that Pogba has actually registered a higher pass success percentage than the former Sporting Lisbon man.
Unsurprisingly, many United fans are delighted by Romano’s update on the “magician” via social media, with one supporter having “tears in my eyes” while another added that the Frenchman is “better than Bruno”. Fernandes has been in electric form since arriving in January but Pogba’s trophy cabinet more than speaks for itself, as he was part of the France side that famously won the 2018 World Cup.
Whichever side of the debate you’re on, it’s fair to say that Solskjaer has two world-class midfielders at his disposal. It is now up to the club legend to get the best out of the midfield maestros as United seek to challenge for silverware next season.
