Manchester United have been linked with Jadon Sancho all summer, but the latest news seems to suggest that they might be looking elsewhere as they are now being linked with Osumane Dembele.
According to Duncan Castles, and as tweeted by @utdreport, the Red Devils have progressed talks with Barcelona for Dembélé. United have proposed a season-long loan but Barcelona will only agree to that if an obligation to buy is included. Barcelona price him at around €100m, which is equivalent to roughly £91m.
The winger, who was part of the French World Cup-winning squad in 2018, has a decent scoring record as he has netted 41 goals as well as supplying 44 assists in 153 appearances, per Transfermarkt. However, one major worry about him is his injury record, as he has missed 80 games for Barcelona since the 2017/18 season.
Many United fans would seem fine with a loan deal as it is less risky than committing to a permanent deal, although some supporters are disillusioned with this latest rumour during a transfer window which has only yielded one new signing so far.
Here is what these fans said following the reports about Dembele:

Negotiations For a player that would spend more time with the physio than on the pitch. Fantastic! I’m amazed. What happened to Saar or Chiesa, if they have given up on Sancho this summer these are better options…. Mou and LVG were right all along.

I think loaning him in will be okay, especially since we dont want to buy. Loaning will be better than just doing nothing

United can act smartly here.
Oblige to buy him only if he can stay fit for Whole season on loan.
