Jose Mourinho got one over on rival and fellow top-four competitor Antonio Conte for the second time at Old Trafford in successive seasons, putting an end to their feud. The local Mancs in the bar were happy with the way their team showed fight and spirit to come back from 1-0 down against a good Chelsea side.
Indeed, they will be hoping for more of the same in the final few months of the season, as United aim to finish in their highest league position since they won it back in 2013.
With a tough run-in in March, it could be a season-defining four weeks for the Red Devils, and one that could shape much of the thinking for next years campaign. EPL: Away v Liverpool
An away day at Anfield is always a big occasion on the United calendar and one that every United fan in the bar wants to win. Liverpool as it stands, are the only major threat to United finishing second and if Mourinho wants to cement that place, a win against their fiercest rivals is a must.
An exciting game could be ahead if Mourinho lets the shackles off, although our regulars feel it’ll be a park the bus set up to nullify Liverpool, with the team looking to hit the Reds on the counter-attack.
FA Cup: Home v Brighton
The FA Cup is United’s only realistic chance of silverware this season, that’s the brunt of it. With the Premier League nailed on to hit the blue side of Manchester and the Champions League seemingly a step too far this year, they really need a strong showing here.
If Mourinho wants to bring his third major trophy in two years to the club, then progression to the semi-finals is the target.
EPL: Away v Manchester City
If Mourinho wants to measure up for next season for what he needs in the transfer window, then this final derby of the season is perfect. Every Red Devil always wants a win against City, and a dominating one would go down a treat, as hard as it is to see.
Indeed, if Mourinho can get one over on Pep Guardiola and just halt the brakes of their momentum, then it’s job done in the eyes of the Portuguese coach.
