Man United reportedly failed with several offers for Serie A star, club planning new deal

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been a rowdy bunch of late as they celebrate their EFL Cup victory and taunt free-falling rivals Liverpool, but calciomercato.com’s latest report regarding their club and Juventus man Paulo Dybala has wiped smiles off faces.

The Red Devils smashed the transfer record last summer to land Paul Pogba from the Old Lady in a deal worth around £89m, and there has been widespread speculation that the spending will continue in 2017.

However, Dybala may not be the man they nab to become a key component in their attack, with reports claiming that Juventus are working hard to tie him down to a new contract in Turin and that ‘several attempts’ were made by the Manchester giants to nab the player, but to no avail.

A timescale has not been put on when these bids were made, but reports from calciomercato.com in February 2016 suggested Dybala was a target for the Red Devils, so there’s every chance these mooted approaches were relatively recent.
