Man United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have today seen some light shed over the future of fan favourite, Juan Mata, after rumours persist that he will be leaving Old Trafford in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s arrival.
The Spanish international was controversially sold by Mourinho during his time at Chelsea, as the ‘Special One’ cited his lack of defensive effort as a reason for moving him on.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs with Everton and more recently Espanyol being mooted as potential destinations.
However, the former Valenica man has now had his say on the situation, telling one Red Devils fan not to “believe everything” that is reported or said on social media.

However, when pressed and asked: “Are you staying at United?” The attacking midfielder simply laughs off the question, leaving the door to a move still open, if only slightly.
